Economic Development: Strategically Positioned for Growth
Mountlake Terrace sits in the center of a booming economy supported by powerful companies such as Boeing, Microsoft, Starbucks, Amazon, and Premera Blue Cross. Working toward downtown revitalization, the city adopted a Town Center Plan, with a vision of new stores, restaurants, retail, offices, and a large plaza in its downtown. Encouraging healthy economic development, yet enhancing its quality of life and concern for the environment, Mountlake Terrace adopted a Sustainability Strategy and Economic Vitality Strategy.

Prime Location & Transportation
Located in south Snohomish County, just 15 miles north of downtown Seattle, Mountlake Terrace is a city on the move. Adjacent to major transportation corridors I-5 and nearby I-405, Mountlake Terrace provides convenient access to Seattle, Everett and Bellevue. The new Mountlake Terrace Transit Center provides parking for over 900 vehicles and easy access to I-5. A new express bus Flyer Stop on I-5 is expected to open in 2010. Sea-Tac International Airport is less than thirty miles away.

Excellent Schools & Educated Workforce
Ninety percent of Mountlake Terrace’s workforce holds a high school diploma, and over twenty four percent hold a Bachelor’s Degree or higher. As part of the Edmonds School District, Mountlake Terrace schools provide a balance of quality education, sports programs, and cultural arts. Nationally recognized public schools combined with nearby institutions of higher learning benefit the community.

Affordable Housing Options
Nine neighborhood parks and nature trails featuring birds and wildlife complement an affordable selection of quality housing, set in quiet, walkable neighborhoods. Every house is within a quarter mile of a bus stop. Seattle Magazine rated Mountlake Terrace 2nd of 110 of Best Neighborhoods in the Seattle region for its affordability, low crime rate, abundant parks, short commute times, and high student test scores.

Mountlake Terrace boasts over 260 acres of parks, playfields, trails, golf courses, and recreational facilities, including an award-winning indoor leisure pool. Residents love beautiful Lake Ballinger for fishing, boating, beach play and picnicking. Evergreen Playfield Complex hosts a variety of activities including baseball, softball, soccer and festivals.
